Company

Software. Energy. Future.

NEWOLUTION is a software company. Our strength lies not in a single piece of hardware but in the intelligent, secure and traceable coordination of the overall system.

Software expertise meetsenergy system understanding.

We have been developing software for photovoltaics since 2010. In 2016 our online PV calculator went to market – a planning tool combining roof visualisation with yield forecasting and profitability calculation, continuously adapted to new legal requirements and technology standards.

Today's development focus grew out of that work: a supervisory master EMS for larger commercial, industrial and storage projects. Both pillars start where energy data, plant technology and interfaces meet.

What we do not do: we neither manufacture nor import battery storage systems, and we are not a system builder. We provide the intelligence above the hardware.

Areas of expertise

What our work builds on.

Energy

An understanding of generation, storage, grid connection, load behaviour and the constraints under which plants are actually operated.

Digitalisation

In-house software development from data acquisition through the operating logic to the user interface – for decision-makers and for engineers.

Interfaces

Connecting heterogeneous components from different manufacturers – the point where energy projects most often get stuck in practice.

Team

The people behind the software.

Development, architecture and project management sit in-house. That is why adjustments happen quickly and requirements do not travel through a service provider.

The team at NEWOLUTION GmbH

A team that has grown together

The setup has developed over years. Software architecture, backend development, technical project management and sales sit at one table – short paths instead of a ticket system.

For customers that means a named contact during business hours and custom requirements that actually get built, rather than landing on a roadmap.

Portrait of Felix Beckstein

Felix

Management and sales

Felix is a salesperson by conviction, in his own way. His path began as a plumbing, heating and air-conditioning technician, continued with training as a paramedic in the German armed forces and further training as an automotive sales professional.

Via the second-chance education route he added a business degree and a master's in business management. The result is experience from thousands of customer conversations and more than ten years in direct customer contact.

Portrait of Stefan

Stefan

Senior manager, software architecture

Stefan brings projects to completion calmly and pragmatically, and solves problems before they arise. His path began with training as an electrical installer and hands-on site experience, then led to a team leadership role in electronics production for telecommunications and medical devices.

He went on to qualify as a state-certified technician for media and information systems and spent more than ten years as a software architect and developer. With the team since 2014.

Portrait of Jan

Jan

Software architecture and project management

Jan brings 20 years of experience building complex web applications, with a focus on backend development in PHP and Symfony. He has worked in sectors ranging from small family businesses to large corporations.

He also covers technical project management, training and coaching. He steers projects to completion and acts as a mediator when requirements pull in different directions.

Portrait of Simon

Simon

Backend development and DevOps

Simon specialises in backend development with PHP and Symfony and brings experience in JavaScript, full stack and DevOps. He has built complex web applications in e-commerce, web agencies, building materials wholesale, photovoltaics, insurance and ticketing.

He approaches problems quietly and confidently and often removes them before anyone else notices. His analyses lead to solutions that are technically elegant and commercially sensible.

Market model

B2B2B: we scale through strong partners.

We work with storage manufacturers, system integrators and project developers. The manufacturer retains its hardware expertise – battery, BMS, PCS and protection logic remain in its responsibility.

NEWOLUTION provides the supervisory control, the visualisation, the system integration and the application-specific optimisation. The customer receives an overall system that is easier to understand and better to justify commercially.

Storage manufacturer

Provides the hardware and retains responsibility for BMS, PCS and safety functions.

NEWOLUTION

Supplies the supervisory EMS: control logic, integration, visualisation and optimisation.

Integrator or project developer

Delivers the project and is responsible for planning, construction and commissioning on site.

Operator or industrial customer

Operates the overall system and works day to day with the business and technical views.

Values

How we work.

Pragmatic

We solve the problem in front of us, not the theoretically more interesting one next to it.

Collaborative

We do not replace manufacturer expertise, we complement it.

Open

We state clearly what works today and what is roadmap.

Modular

Functions can be enabled individually rather than as a rigid package.

Secure

IT security is part of the architecture, not an add-on.

Scalable

What works at one site has to be transferable to others.

Comprehensible

Even complex energy flows must stay understandable for decision-makers.

Evidenced

We communicate figures with a clear reference to where they come from.
